First of all a big congrats to you for taking that first step, and accepting that Jesus Christ Love's you so much that He’d be willing to die, and take the punishment for our mess. This is the start of what will be amazing journey. Or maybe you don’t know who this God is we keep talking about, and you have questions rushing through your mind. What ever it is we want to support you on your journey and help you in the decisions you will make.
Real Christianity is a relationship with Jesus Christ -not outward rituals.
1 CORINTHIANS 1:9 NKJ
You were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Many people think they are a Christian simply because they are born into a Christian family or nation. Others think being a church member or living a moral life makes them a Christian. But a real Christian is one who has received Jesus Christ, and acknowledges Him as Lord and God.
ROMANS 10:9 NKJ
That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
JOHN 1:12 NKJ
But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name:
- Find a bible believing church that has good teaching and where you can meet other Christians.
- Start to read your bible daily, a good time is in the morning before you start your day.
- You can read a few scriptures and as you grow, you will want to read more and more. It’s important not to try and rush ahead of yourself.
- Pray - Matthew 6vs 9-13 this is a great support in teaching new Christians how to pray, you can start by praying this. You can then pray for your family friends, colleagues anything where you want God to help. Also pray for your self. As you read the scriptures there are many verses especially in the Psalms that can be used as prayers.
- Join a home/Cell group in the church. Here they will teach you about God and the word and they will support you on your new journey. You can also ask questions in a small group setting and get answers; it’s also a great time to fellowship/hang out with new people.
We’ve all messed up right, we’ve all either said or done something wrong, and felt that niggling feeling inside that we screwed things up. The bible calls this sin, and our conscience when we do wrong is like a thermostat measuring whether were at the right level or not. We need God to forgive our sin and to help us live a right life before Him. God sent His son Jesus to die for us so that all our sin could be forgiven and that we could live in a right relationship with God (the father).Rom 3 vs 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God
